Norway’s power grid corporation, Statnett completed its power project on the north side of the Hardanger Fjord, Norway. This project will allow the state owned company to electrify offshore installations and raise the amount of power sold overseas. This project was opposed by local leaders, politicians, environmental activists and community heads. They named these power structures as “monster masts” and have the opinion that these will decrease the beauty of the scenic areas. Masts are painted in red and white for better visibility from approaching aircrafts. The color coordination of the masts has not gone well with the locals as they were expecting the structures to be in camouflage colours i: e in brown and green. This project was delayed for the widespread protests of 2010. Again the project was delayed for snowy winter. Recently Statnett officials announced that they have completed 24 kilometers of the total 93 kilometer route. The project is expected to get completed by December 2013. Norway’s economy will change immensely once the project gets completed. This is the right time to apply for your Norway Visa and get a job and settle in the beautiful country.
